Advocates' Bulletin Board
Through its Immigrant Concerns Training Institute (ICTI), The New York Immigration Coalition offers a full calendar of trainings on topics critical for organizations, social service providers, government employees, and attorneys serving immigrant communities. The Institute also provides public education events covering immigration law and immigrants' rights issues to the community at large for free.
Please read the new policy on attendance at ICTI CLE trainings.
ICTI Attendance Policy
(1) Nonprofit organizations that are not members of the NYIC can not send employees to CLE trainings unless the organization is listed on the roster of BIA recognized agencies or the agency provides legal services under the direct supervision of an immigration attorney. (2) NYIC members that are not BIA-recognized and that do not have an immigration attorney on staff can not send their staff to CLE trainings unless the head of the member agency first signs an attestation with the NYIC that they understand what constitutes the “practice of law” and that they shall not engage in the unauthorized practice of law. The NYIC will provide the form attestation upon request.
To register for the trainings please fax or email your completed registration form to Jonathan Vidal at either (212)627-9314 or at jvidal@thenyic.org.
To set up a community education event please contact the following issue areas on the topics you want to organize in your community. Please make sure when you call or email to specify the name of your organization, the name of topic(s) you want us to cover, the time(s) and date(s) of community presentation you want to set up, and the address of the place to where a speaker would have to go.
