Applications Due June 12, 2017

The Immigrant Civic Leadership Program (ICLP) - a partnership between Coro New York Leadership Center (Coro NY) and the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) - supports emergency leaders in becoming effective advocates for immigrant communities. Due to generous funding, ICLP is free for participants outside of a $100 materials fee and NYIC Membership organizations are given priority for many of the spots within the program.

Maria Caba from NYIC Member organization Atlas: DIY and others talk about the experience
of being in the 2016-2017 ICLP program.

ICLP supports participants with:

  • training around leadership, advocacy, leveraging resources, developing partnerships, and navigating current issues impacting immigrant communities
  • a deeper understanding of policy and decision-making in New York City
  • advisement from diverse and influential leaders
  • access to a rich alumni network of over 2,400 people working in different sectors in the city
  • engagement in community change projects

In order to qualify for the program, applicants must:

  • work for an immigrant-focused organization in New York City
  • have at least 5 years of experience working with immigrant communities
  • have a passion for developing new leadership skills for addressing issues in New York City
  • define a community change project that will support immigrant communities
  • have interest in actively participating in the Coro community and ICLP alumni network
