Language Access
New York City is home to more than one million people who don't speak English well or at all. More than 100,000 new New Yorkers arrive from abroad each year, many of whom never had the chance to study English. In addition to advocating for more adult English classes, the NYIC works to eliminate language barriers at government offices, schools, and hospitals, for all New Yorkers.
