Leadership Development & Advocacy
Leadership Development & Advocacy
At the NYIC, we recognize that civic participation and political involvement does not end on Election Day; rather, sustained year-round political participation and advocacy is essential to hold our elected officials accountable and ensure that immigrant issues are prioritized. To this end, we provide leadership development trainings to inform immigrant communities of civic structures and processes, and organize City and State Advocacy days to promote the Coalition's Budget and Legislative Agendas.
Through these efforts, the NYIC has cultivated a diverse corps of leaders and members who are a permanent part of the democratic process—demanding accountability from government and educating the rest of their community about civic participation.
