Position Overview
The NYIC Finance & Administration Associate will work closely with the Manager of Administration and Finance to provide support on financial management, government contracts, and administrative tasks. The Associate will work closely with program staff to ensure accurate expense tracking and reporting and reporting on contract deliverables and will also provide administrative and technical support for the organization as needed. A successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and  familiarity with government contracts is a strong advantage.
Key responsibilities
  • Process and track expense reimbursements
  • Compile periodic financial and administrative reports   
  • Handle all documentation for  government contracts including contract and budget documents, financial vouchers, program reports, etc.
  • Liaise with government officials, NYIC program staff, NYIC leadership, and outside accountants and third party vendors
  • Maintain detailed records and files
  • Support organizational procurement and operations
  • Provide additional support for the NYIC administrative team as necessary
Qualifications sought:
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience is preferred, office experience in a fast paced non profit preferred and experience handling sensitive information with discretion is an advantage
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience working on the administration of New York City or State government contracts is a strong asset
  • Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with information technology and the ability to help provide IT support for NYIC staff is an asset
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or another language is an advantage but is not required
