U Visas: Remedies for Victims of Serious Crime

This training will provide an in-depth analysis of the U visa, a particular type of immigration relief available to immigrant victims of serious crimes. Attendees will learn about who is eligible for a U Visa, the benefits that accompany the visa, details about the required law enforcement certification, available waivers of certain grounds of inadmissibility, the filing requirements, and subsequent adjustment of status for U visa holders.

 

This webinar will be conducted by Suzanne Tomatore, Co-Director of the Immigrant Justice Project at the City Bar Justice Center.

 

CLE: 2 credits in professional practice. This course provides transitional credit for newly admitted attorneys and non-transitional credit for experienced attorneys.

 

Please note that this training is only open to organizations and attorneys based in New York State.
