With only three days left in the state legislative session, immigrant advocates and their allies are calling on Governor Cuomo, Speaker Silver and Majority Leader Skelos to pass state-level legislation to provide tuition assistance (TAP) to undocumented youth (DREAMers).

Statement by Ms. Chung-Wha Hong, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition,on the Passage of Assembly bill A08689B:
"The NYIC has always supported the New York State DREAM Act and DREAM Fund as a package. The key provision in the DREAM Fund bill passed in the Assembly today would set up a commission to raise private scholarships for undocumented students. While private scholarships could be helpful, the Fund, by itself, does not accomplish the ultimate goal of equal access to college education for all students.
